Our recommendations are built entirely from secondary research. We rely on three source types and nothing else.

What our scores mean

Where a guide shows a confidence score out of five, that score describes how settled the research is — how complete the published specifications are, how clear the applicable standards are, and how consistently owner reports agree with one another.

It is an editorial judgement about evidence quality. It is not a performance measurement, a durability rating, a safety certification, or a promise about how a product will behave in your hands.
