2. Information you give us directly

We only receive personal information from you when you choose to send it.

• Email correspondence. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up.
• Comments. If commenting is enabled on an article and you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and comment text you submit, plus your IP address and browser user agent string. This helps with spam detection.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Like most websites, we and our service providers collect limited technical information automatically when you browse. This typically includes your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring website, the pages you view, and the time and date of your visit.

This information is used in aggregate to understand which articles are useful, to diagnose technical problems, and to protect the site against abuse. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

8. Data retention and security

Email correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for handling your enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted. Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up replies remain readable in context. Analytics data is retained according to the provider’s standard retention settings.

We use HTTPS encryption and standard security practices to protect information in transit. No method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. External links

Our articles link to retailers, manufacturers, and documentation held on other websites. Once you leave emberterrace.com, this policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any external site.

We may update this policy as the site, the services we use, or the law changes. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on the page.
